Participant Requirements

• At least 18 years of age (some exceptions may be granted)
• Presently an enrolled college student or recent college graduate
• Some Spanish background is a plus, but not required
• Some travel experience is useful, but not required
• Must have desire, confidence, motivation and leadership skills
• Must be flexible and open to new ideas and cultures
• Must be physically and mentally able to live in a small village in a tropical climate

Costs

$100 application fee
$100 for 10 one-on-one Spanish classes

$350 per week includes:

• Lodging (with local family)
• Three meals a day (if eaten with the family)
• Internship logistics and bicycle use (during entire stay)
• Does not include travel expenses (see travel section for details)
• Stay for a minimum of one week and a maximum of 3 months
• Payment is required in full six weeks before arrival date (see Terms and Conditions). Cost is only a per week rate. Daily rates are not offered and extra stays will be charged for a full week unless you stay as a tourist.
